Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyrone Wallace registered a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds as the California Golden Bears downed the Eastern Washington Eagles, 78-67, in non-conference action at Haas Pavilion.

Christian Behrens added 20 points and eight boards for California (10-1) as it picked up its seventh consecutive win. Sam Singer contributed 15 points, while Jordan Matthews netted 13 points.

Tyler Harvey paced the Eagles (8-4) with 31 points on 11-of-17 efficiency from the floor. Venky Jois also made his mark with 23 points and six rebounds, but the rest of EWU combined for 12 points on 3-of-23 shooting from the field.

The Eagles managed to build a seven-point lead by the 11:34 point of the first half, but California took control with a 23-6 run and went into the break on top, 37-26. EWU was held to eight makes on 26 attempts from the floor in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

The Eagles heated up to sink 53.6 percent of their field goal tries after the break. The Golden Bears extended their lead to as many as 17 and outscored EWU, 12-5, at the charity stripe in the second stanza.

The visitors finished with only four assists. California enjoyed a 36-23 edge in total rebounds.
