Recap: BYU vs. Massachusetts

Provo, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Anson Winder scored 25 points to lead Brigham Young over Massachusetts, 77-71, in overtime at the Marriott Center.

Kyle Collinsworth added 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Cougars (10-3), who won their third straight despite getting just four points from the nation's leading scorer Tyler Haws.

Haws was held to just 2-of-9 shooting and missed his only free throw attempt after coming into the game averaging 23.8 points per game.

Maxie Esho scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Minutemen (6-6), who have dropped five of six. Cady Lalanne added 11 points and 10 boards for UMass.

The game was tight throughout and with 2.4 seconds left Esho had a chance to win it, but he hit just 1-of-2 free throws to tie the game 62-62 and force overtime.

BYU took control late in the extra session. Trailing 68-65, the Cougars ran off 10 straight points. Winder's two free throws with 1:54 left gave the Cougars the lead for good, 69-68. Two more free throws by Winder with 22 seconds to go made it a two possession game, 73-68, and BYU held on from there.

Haws had a streak of 60 straight games with at least double-figure scoring come to an end.
