Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Freeman led the way with 20 points as the Austin Peay Governors coasted to a 79-58 victory over the Brown Bears as part of the Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena.

Freeman knocked down 10-of-12 shots from the floor to pace the Governors (2-4), who will advance to take on Stephen F. Austin in the next stage of the tournament. Ed Dyson added 18 points, while Khalil Davis contributed 10 points and nine boards. Chris Horton led APSU on the glass with 12 rebounds.

For Brown (1-5), Leland King netted 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Cedric Kuakumensah provided 15 points for the Bears.

Brown took a 38-33 lead into the intermission after it shot 55.2 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Governors trailed at the break despite forcing 11 turnovers in the first half.

The Bears, who will contend against Prairie View on Friday, watched their lead evaporate as they were limited to 26.9 percent efficiency from the floor, including a 2-of-11 clip from beyond the arc in the second stanza. APSU outrebounded Brown, 26-8, after halftime.

The Governors outscored the Bears, 42-16, in the paint.
