Belmont Bruins VS. Fairfield Stags

Recap: Belmont vs. Fairfield

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - J.J. Mann dropped 15 points in the Belmont Bruin's 62-53 triumph over the Fairfield Stags in a non-conference tilt on Monday.

Reece Chamberlain tallied 13 points, five assists and three steals while Craig Bradshaw donated 12 points. Belmont (14-7), which has won six of seven, shot just 3-of-16 from the 3-point arc.

Marcus Gilbert scored a game-high 16 points for Fairfield (4-15), losers in six of its last seven games. Maurice Barrow and K.J. Rose had 10 points apiece.

Chamberlain's three-point play four minutes in had the hosts in front 9-0. Barrow finally broke the seal for Fairfield but the Bruins stayed hot, as Mann's jumper midway through the period made it 19-7.

Belmont led 31-21 at halftime and never trailed despite a furious Fairfield rally tying the score at 53-apiece heading into the final media timeout. Mann's triple with less than three minutes remaining broke the tie, Bradshaw followed with a layup and the Stags were kept off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
