Muncie, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Zavier Turner netted 15 points and dished out six assists to help lead his Ball State Cardinals to a 70-63 non-conference victory over the Indiana State Sycamores at Worthen Arena.

Bo Calhoun chipped in with 13 points for Ball State (3-3), while Franko House, Matt Kamieniecki and Francis Kiapway all netted 11 points. Kamieniecki tallied a double-double in the win, adding 10 rebounds to his day.

Justin Gant paced Indiana State (3-5) with 16 points, while Khristian Smith contributed 15 points in the loss.

Ball State connected on just 29.6 percent of its first-half shot attempts, and trailed Indiana State at the half, 30-22. Indiana State connected on 42.4 percent of its shots in the frame.

But in the second half, the Cardinals caught fire. They shot 63.6 percent from the floor, and made 14-of-19 from the free-throw line to erase the deficit. The Sycamores made 47.8 percent from the field, but only hit 3-of-10 from 3- point range.

Ball State held a 24-8 edge in bench scoring, and outscored Indiana State from the free-throw line, 18-9.
