Auburn, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Cinmeon Bowers recorded a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 17 rebounds as the Auburn Tigers came back to defeat the Milwaukee Panthers, 83-73, as part of the MGM Grand Main Event at Auburn Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Tigers (1-0) were KT Harrell with 20 points, Antoine Mason 19 and reserve KC Ross-Miller with 13 in the triumph.

The Panthers (0-1) were paced by Akeem Springs who tallied a game-high 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, followed by Justin Jordan and JR Lyle with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Despite missing their only two shots at the free-throw line in the first half, the Panthers found themselves with a 32-29 advantage at the break thanks to a 4-of-9 showing behind the 3-point line. Auburn connected on just 39.3 percent from the field through the first 20 minutes.

Both teams shot better than 54 percent from the floor in the second half, but the big difference took place at the charity stripe where the Tigers knocked down 24-of-32 and Milwaukee only 6-of-12 as the hosts erased a 12-point deficit and pulled away for the double-digit victory.

Overall, Auburn outscored the Panthers at the free-throw line by a 28-6 margin.
