Auburn, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - K.T. Harrell netted 24 points and hit a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line to lead his Auburn Tigers past the South Carolina Gamecocks, 71-68, in an SEC clash at Auburn Arena.

Antoine Mason contributed 14 points and Cinmeon Bowers added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for Auburn (10-7, 2-2 SEC), which has won two of its last three games.

Duane Notice scored 16 points to pace South Carolina (10-6, 1-3), while Laimonas Chatkevicius tallied a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Sindarius Thornwell and Tyrone Johnson each netted 13 points for the Gamecocks, who have lost three of their last four decisions.

Auburn jumped way out in front in the first half after netting 37.1 percent of its field goal tries, although the Tigers made 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. South Carolina hit on 42.9 percent shooting, but missed its only attempt from the charity stripe. Auburn led at the half, 39-29.

The Gamecocks increased their shooting percentage in the second half to 58.3, and was able to shave off seven points from the Auburn lead. But the Tigers were able to hold up enough of an advantage to win the game after connecting on 35.3 percent of their attempts from the floor in the period.

Auburn vastly outscored South Carolina from the free-throw line, 26-8, and held a 20-14 edge in points off turnovers in the victory.
