West Point, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Wilson netted 25 points to lift the Army Black Knights to an 84-78 victory over the Air Force Falcons in the All- Military Classic first round Friday night at Christl Arena to open their 2014-15 basketball season.

Tanner Plomb added 22 points for Army (1-0), which will advance to take on VMI in Saturday's championship game. Kevin Ferguson chipped in 10 points and six rebounds for the Black Knights.

Max Yon paced the Falcons (0-1) with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor. Hayden Graham provided a spark off the bench with 18 points, while Kamryn Williams tallied 10 points and seven boards. Max Mooney dealt out half of Air Force's 14 assists in the loss.

Army took a 48-38 lead into the intermission after it knocked down 52.9 percent of its field goal tries, including an 8-of-16 clip from 3-point range in the opening stanza. The Falcons trailed by double-digits despite shooting an even 50 percent from the floor in the first half.

The Black Knights cooled off to connect on 44.4 percent of their shots from the field after the break, but still managed to increase their lead to as many as 24. Air Force outscored the hosts, 24-12, in the paint in the second half.

Army held a 37-32 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the Falcons, 39-18, from 3-point range.
