Arkansas Razorbacks VS. Wis.-Milwaukee Panthers

Milwaukee (5-7) at Arkansas (8-2)

GAME NOTES: The Arkansas Razorbacks bring their unblemished home record into Monday's non-conference matchup with the Milwaukee Panthers.

The Razorbacks opened the season at 6-0, lost back-to-back games to Iowa State and Clemson, and have since won two in a row. They bested Southeast Missouri State, 84-67, on Saturday as Bobby Portis scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the convincing triumph.

Michael Qualls scored all 15 of his points in the second half and Anthlon Bell contributed a dozen for Arkansas, which shot 55.2 percent from the field and connected on 46.2 percent from beyond the arc in en route to a 17-point halftime lead. Arkansas, which improved to 6-0 at Bud Walton Arena, led wire- to-wire and forced 17 turnovers.

Portis (16.6 ppg) and Qualls (14.4 ppg) are the top-two scorers for Arkansas this season, and both rank in the top-10 in the Southeastern Conference. Portis is also the leading rebounder for the Razorbacks, as he averages 7.0 rpg. Arkansas' offense has been important to its early success, as the team is scoring 83.5 ppg (first in the SEC), converting 47.3 percent of its field goal attempts, and leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.415).

A five-game road swing got started on the wrong foot for Milwaukee on Saturday as the Panthers fell to SIU Edwardsville. They turned the ball over 18 times and shot just 31.7 percent from the floor in the 61-56 loss, their third in four games.

Matt Tiby scored a team-high 16 points, but needed 13 shots to do so. He also pulled down nine rebounds while Steve McWhorter posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards. McWhorter, though, committed eight turnovers.

Otherwise, McWhorter has been Milwaukee's most consistent performer, as he ranks among the Horizon League leaders in scoring (14.8 ppg), rebounding (6.3 rpg) and assists (3.3 apg). The senior is the only double-digit scorer on the roster, with Tiby inching closer at 9.7 ppg.

The squad overall only puts up 64.9 ppg and has eclipsed the 70-point plateau just three times in its first 12 games.

All signs point to an Arkansas victory in the first meeting between these two schools. The Razorbacks have won 24 straight non-conference games at home, and Milwaukee is 0-4 in true road games thus far.
