Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - John Schoof scored a game-high 19 points as the American University Eagles secured a 63-38 victory over the Presbyterian Blue Hose as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Kevin Panzer tallied 16 points and Jesse Reed chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds for American (2-1).

Jordan Downing netted 18 points for Presbyterian (1-2).

Both teams recorded eight field goals in the first half. The Eagles were able to pull ahead at the break (26-19) by holding scoring advantages from 3-point range (12-6) and at the free-throw line (6-1).

American pulled away considerably in the second half by shooting 56 percent from the floor, including a 7-of-11 showing from 3-point range.

The Eagles forced 21 turnovers, which they converted into 24 points.
