San Jose State (2-12) at Air Force (7-6)

GAME NOTES: The Air Force Falcons will look for their first Mountain West Conference win this season when they play host to the San Jose State Spartans on Wednesday night at Klune Arena.

San Jose State heads to Air Force on a four-game losing streak which includes a 64-59 home loss to conference foe Wyoming on Saturday. The loss dropped the Spartans' conference record to 0-2 and overall record to 2-12.

The Falcons enter this contest on a two-game losing streak, with the losses coming on the road against San Diego State (53-49), and most recently the Nevada Wolf Pack (80-62) on Saturday. The losses put Air Force at an 0-2 record in the conference, and 7-6 overall.

This marks the sixth meeting between these two squads, with San Jose State leading the all-time series, 3-2. Air Force won both meetings last season by scores of 77-62 at home, and 51-48 at San Jose.

Darryl Gaynor II was one three Spartans to net double figures against the Wyoming Cowboys, as he finished with 17 points. The other players to finish with double digits were Ivo Basor (14 points) and Rashad Muhammad (13 points). The Spartans shot well in the opening period, as they connected 48.0 percent of their field goal attempts, and held the Cowboys to a shooting percentage of just 40. But San Jose State couldn't contain Wyoming in the final period, as the Cowboys connected on 61.1 percent of their field goal attempts and the Spartans made only 41.4 percent of their tries from the field.

Muhammad (12.2 ppg), Jordan Baker (10.6 ppg), and Frank Rogers (10.4 ppg) are all averaging double figures for San Jose State this season. Rogers has been the top Spartans rebounder this season with 6.1 rpg. The Spartans have played poorly this season on both sides of the ball, as they currently rank last in the Mountain West for scoring offense (55.6 ppg), scoring defense (66.5 ppg), field goal percentage (37.8), free throw percentage (61.5) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (38.6). San Jose State also finds themselves on the under in both the turnover margin (-2.50) and rebounding margin (-2.6).

Marek Olesinski scored 19 points for the Falcons in their recent loss to Nevada. Justin Hammonds finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for Air Force, while Max Yon contributed with 13 points in the defeat. The Falcons played poorly in the first half, as they shot just 26.9 percent from the field and allowed the Wolf Pack to connect on 44.4 percent of their field goal attempts. Although Air Force shot a much better 66.7 percent in the final period, Nevada made 52.2 percent of its tries from the field in the closing 20 minutes.

Yon continues to be the leading scorer for Air Force this season, as he is averaging 14.7 ppg, the seventh best scoring average in the Mountain West this season. Kamryn Williams is currently the team's second best scorer (9.5 ppg) and best rebounder (6.0 rpg). Air Force is currently averaging 68.4 ppg (third in the MWC) and converting 48.9 percent of its field goal attempts (second in the MWC). Defensively, the Falcons are holding opponents to 61.4 ppg (fourth in the MWC) and allowing them to shoot just 40.3 percent from the field.
