USAFA, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Max Yon poured in a game-high 21 points, as the Air Force Falcons downed the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks, 77-61, in a non- conference clash at Clune Arena.

Yon shot 6-of-10 from the field and 6-of-7 at the free-throw line for Air Force (5-3), which has won back-to-back games. Marek Olesinski tallied 16 points and six assists, while Kamryn Williams scored 10 points.

For Omaha (3-4), Mike Rostampour logged 17 points and eight assists, while C.J. Carter and Tre'Shawn Thurman netted 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Omaha shot an impressive 48 percent from the field in the first half, but Air Force was even better than 50 percent, which included a 6-of-15 showing from 3-point range. The Falcons took a 37-30 advantage into intermission.

The Mavericks used a 10-0 run to get to within two points of the lead with just over six minutes left in the game, but the Falcons put an end to the threat with an 11-1 spurt of their own to pull away.

Although Air Force was outrebounded, 32-31, it outscored Omaha in the paint, 36-22.
