The Buccaneers make their home at the great Raymond James Stadium that even features a pirate ship in one of the end zones which fires off canon shots when they score. The Buc's have had a rough time since they were founded as they were perennially one of the worst teams in football. However, this maligned past was put to bed in 2002-03 when they won their first Super Bowl.

Other than the Buc's and the Rays, the Lightning are the towns hockey club. As part of the NHL trying to get new support from people in the Southern United States, they began moving teams into this region. The Lightning were an expansion team that fit this mold in 1993. Though they are relatively young, the Lightning organization only took ten years to build a championship hockey club as they hoisted their first Stanley Cup trophy in the 2003-04 season.
