Hallandale Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Breeders’ Cup Classic champion Mucho Macho Man returned Wednesday to his Gulfstream Park barn after his plane flight from California.<\/p>\n
“He looks great,” said trainer Kathy Ritvo. “He’s the man. I think he knows he won, just the way he walked back after the race. He’s a smart horse.”<\/p>\n
Owned by Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, the 5-year-old horse held on Saturday night to defeat Will Take Charge by a nose in the $5 million Classic at Santa Anita Park. The horse, second to Fort Larned in last year’s race, was ridden by Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens.<\/p>\n
Mucho Macho Man will make an appearance Saturday at Gulfstream Park where he will parade during the inaugural running of the $1 million Sunshine Millions Preview Day Championships.<\/p>\n
Mucho Macho Man’s future is still to be decided.<\/p>\n
“We’re going to let him get settled in this week then start talking,” Ritvo said. “He might go back in a couple days (to the track), as long as he’s not too tired.”<\/p>\n
