Hallandale Beach, FL (Sports Network) – Eclipse Award winning trainer Dale Romans is included in the partnership of a new racing endeavor.<\/p>\n
Romans, Carlo Vaccarezza and Florida businessman John Williams, have put together Little Dreams Racing based in Parkland, Fla.<\/p>\n
“It’s for people who can’t afford to pay $50,000 or $60,000 on a horse,” Vaccarezza said, “the UPS driver, the FedEx driver, the secretary in the doctor’s office, the people who go to the racetrack every week but can’t afford $50,000 or $60,000 but can afford $1,000 or $2,000 and would like to buy 1 or 2 percent of a horse.<\/p>\n
“When you’re in the winner’s circle, nobody asks what percentage you own. You get the same thrill as though you own 99 percent of the horse.”<\/p>\n
Romans trains Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Little Mike for Vaccarezza’s wife Priscilla. Vaccarezza owns a south Florida restaurant.<\/p>\n
As stated on the partnership’s website: “The purpose of Little Dreams Racing is to form partnerships with racing enthusiasts to run Thoroughbreds at the major racing venues of the United States.”<\/p>\n
Little Mike will make his next start in the Arlington Million on Saturday, Aug. 17. The 6-year-old won last year’s Million and finished second to Horse of the Year Wise Dan in the voting for champion turf male.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
