The 4-year-old colt is in training for a probable start in the San Diego Handicap on July 27 at Del Mar.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;PAYNTER worked great today. Looks like he might be headed to San Diego Stake in Del Mar,&#8221; Baffert posted on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Owned by Zayat Stables, Paynter covered the six furlongs in 1:12 3\/5 on a fast track. It was the fastest time for the distance among 10 working six furlongs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Paynter worked awesome!!! Pointing for San Diego! GET READY!!,&#8221; Justin Zayat posted on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>The 4-year-old won his return race at Hollywood Park on June 14 after being sidelined with health problems.<\/p>\n<p>Making his first start since winning last year&#8217;s Haskell Invitational, Paynter covered seven furlongs in 1:21.86 with jockey Rafael Bejarano. The colt posted a 4 1\/2-length win in typical front running fashion.<\/p>\n<p>Paynter came down with an infection after winning the Haskell on July 29.
