Trained by Charles LoPresti, the 6-year-old gelding is training for the $150,000 Firecracker Handicap at Churchill Downs on June 29.<\/p>\n<p>Owned by Morton Fink, Wise Dan worked five furlongs in 58 2\/5 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He worked very well and galloped out really strong,&#8221; LoPresti said. &#8220;We were very happy with it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year, the 6-year-old gelding won the Maker&#8217;s 46 Mile turf race by a length on April 12 at Keeneland and the Turf Classic at Churchill Downs on May 4.<\/p>\n<p>Wise Dan has posted 15 wins in 22 lifetime starts for better than $4,059,631.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lexington, KY (Sports Network) &#8211; Reigning Horse of the Year Wise Dan put in a workout Saturday at Keeneland two weeks ahead of his next start.
