The two-time All-Star had been struggling prior to being placed on the DL on May 27, surrendering seven runs over 2 2\/3 innings in his last three appearances after posting an 0.64 ERA through his first 14 outings of the season.<\/p>\n<p>The soon-to-be 28-year-old, who ranked fourth in the American League with 39 saves in 2012, has gone 2-1 with a 4.32 ERA and six saves this season and is expected to reclaim his customary closer&#8217;s role, though replacement Vinnie Pestano converted all five of his save opportunities while filling in.<\/p>\n<p>To make room for Perez on the active roster, the Indians optioned left-hander T.J.
