Melbourne, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) – Hometown favorite Adam Scott closed with an even-par 71 on Sunday and won the Talisker Masters by two strokes.<\/p>\n
Scott, who won this title for the second straight year, finished at 14-under- par 270. It was also his second straight win in his homeland. Last week, Scott won the Australian PGA. This was his fifth PGA Tour of Australasia victory.<\/p>\n
The Australian mixed two birdies and two bogeys over a 5-hole span from the third. Around the turn, Scott birdied the 11th and 15th, but gave those strokes back as he double-bogeyed the par-3 14th. Scott wrapped up the win with three straight pars from the 16th at Royal Melbourne.<\/p>\n
American Matt Kuchar closed with a 3-under 68 to take second place at minus-12. Vijay Singh, who started the day in a four-way tie for second place, managed an even-par 71 to end alone in third at 10-under-par 274.<\/p>\n
Nick Cullen tripped 1-over 72 to finish in fourth at 9-under 275, while Ryan Fox (73) and Matthew Griffin (75) shared fifth at minus-6.<\/p>\n
