{"id":7702,"date":"2013-11-10T07:27:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-10T07:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staging.stub.com\/hq\/news\/scott-secures-hometown-win-in-australia\/"},"modified":"2013-11-10T15:10:05","modified_gmt":"2013-11-10T15:10:05","slug":"scott-secures-hometown-win-in-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/scott-secures-hometown-win-in-australia\/","title":{"rendered":"Scott secures hometown win in Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gold Coast, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; Masters champion and hometown favorite Adam Scott shot 4-under-par 67 on Sunday to win the Australian PGA Championship by four strokes over Rickie Fowler.<\/p>\n<p>Scott finished the event at 14-under-par 270 and earned his fourth PGA Tour of Australasia win.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I sat here a few days ago letting you know that this is the one I wanted,&#8221; said Scott. &#8220;It feels amazing to be able to kind of tick the boxes down here in Australia now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fowler carded a 68 to finish alone in second place at 10-under 274, Jack Wilson (68) took third at 8-under and Cameron Percy (68) placed fourth at minus-7. Michael Wright (71) rounded out the top-5 at 6-under.<\/p>\n<p>Scott began the day with a two-stroke lead and overcame a weather delay at RACV Royal Pines Resort to win by a comfortable margin.<\/p>\n<p>The Masters champ opened with seven straight pars before going birdie-bogey from the eighth. He then parred two in a row before taking command with an eagle-3 at the 12th.
