Owings Mills, MD (SportsNetwork.com) – Baltimore Ravens starting inside linebacker Josh Bynes will miss Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after having surgery on an infected finger.<\/p>\n
“He went into the hospital earlier this week. His finger that he cut a couple of weeks ago and played with got infected,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Friday. “He was on antibiotics for two or three days there. We felt like he’d be fine; we felt like he would play in the game. We thought we’d have him back to practice Wednesday, then Thursday. Last night, the infection beat the antibiotics, so he had to get surgery on that finger to get it cleaned out. He’s doing fine, but that will preclude him from being able to play in this game. He’ll be out of this game.”<\/p>\n
With Bynes being ruled out, rookie Arthur Brown is expected to make his first career start.<\/p>\n
Fellow linebacker Jameel McClain returned to practice this week, 10 months after suffering a spinal cord contusion. He had a full week of practice, and the team has until Saturday at 4 p.m. to decide whether to activate him from the physically unable to perform list and put him on the 53-man roster.<\/p>\n
The Ravens listed wide receiver Brandon Stokley (thigh) as doubtful, but Harbaugh said he likely won’t play Sunday.<\/p>\n
