Berea, OH (Sports Network) – Cleveland Browns rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo will not play in Sunday’s season opener against the Miami Dolphins.

The club made it official in their Friday injury report, a result of the bruised lung Mingo suffered in the preseason.

Mingo, the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft, left an Aug. 15 exhibition game against the Detroit Lions with the injury. He was hospitalized for two days before being released.
