He won by scores of 116-110 on two cards and 115-111 on the other for his third straight victory. Blanquet (32-6-1) lost his second straight bout.<\/p>\n<p>It was Yaegashi&#8217;s first title defense following his victory over Japanese countryman Toshiyuki Igarashi in April.<\/p>\n<p>Yamanaka (19-0-2, 14 KOs) didn&#8217;t take long to stay undefeated, knocking out Jose Nieves at the 2:40 mark of the first round to remain bantamweight champ.<\/p>\n<p>Nieves (22-3-3) had won five straight entering the fight.<\/p>\n<p>Yamanaka has won each of his four title defenses since capturing the belt in November 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tokyo, Japan (Sports Network) &#8211; Akira Yaegashi and Shinsuke Yamanaka retained their respective WBC titles Monday.
