Owings Mills, MD (SportsNetwork.com) – The Baltimore Ravens hired former Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman as their new offensive coordinator on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Trestman will be an offensive coordinator in the NFL for a fifth time. He takes over for Gary Kubiak, who left to coach the Denver Broncos after one season as Ravens offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n
Kubiak, who was hired last January after being fired as coach of the Houston Texans, guided the Ravens offense to a franchise-record 364.9 yards per game, 12th in the NFL.<\/p>\n
Trestman, 59, was 13-19 in two seasons as Chicago’s head coach and was fired last month following a 5-11 season, the Bears’ worst in 10 years.<\/p>\n
They ranked 21st in the NFL with 327.1 yards of offense per game and scored the 10th-fewest points in the league.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining the Bears, Trestman coached the Canadian Football League’s Montreal Alouettes for five years, winning back-to-back Grey Cups in 2009-10.<\/p>\n
Before that, he had a long career as an assistant, including stints as an NFL offensive coordinator for Cleveland, San Francisco, Arizona and Oakland and as a college offensive coordinator at North Carolina State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
