Hallandale Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Hall of Fame jockey Edgar Prado is still recuperating after suffering an accident this past Tuesday at Gulfstream Park and was unable to fulfill his riding assignments Friday.<\/p>\n
“He’s doing OK,” Prado’s agent Bob Klesaris said. “There was nothing career- ending or life-threatening. He had a pretty good laceration above his eye and on the corner of his eye, and he had a little bit of plastic surgery. He just looked like he came out of a prize fight. I guess, in reality, he’s going to miss three or four days. He’s already missed two, and he’s off his mounts today, so I’d say he’s day to day.”<\/p>\n
Prado, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008, was dumped from his mount in Tuesday’s seventh race. For the year, Prado has 97 wins from 552 mounts and $3,894,387.
