Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Dallas Cowboys running back and the NFL’s leading rusher DeMarco Murray was on the field for Wednesday’s practice after undergoing surgery Monday on his fractured left hand.

Murray, who was listed on the injury report as not practicing because he didn’t participate in any of the team’s drills, took part in individual drills and was seen taking handoffs from Brandon Weeden. He had a plastic shell sewn into the top of his glove.

The 26-year-old was hurt late in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He ran for 81 yards with two touchdowns in the 38-27 victory, which lifted Dallas into first place in the NFC East.

Murray has 1,687 yards on the ground and also leads the league with 11 rushing touchdowns.

Joseph Randle took the first-team snaps at running back.
