{"id":27302,"date":"2014-12-16T15:32:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T15:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/sprint-to-end-nascar-partnership-after-2016\/"},"modified":"2014-12-16T15:32:00","modified_gmt":"2014-12-16T15:32:00","slug":"sprint-to-end-nascar-partnership-after-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/sprint-to-end-nascar-partnership-after-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Sprint to end NASCAR partnership after 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Huntersville, NC (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; Sprint will end its partnership with NASCAR after the 2016 season.<\/p>\n<p>The wireless carrier cited a need to focus more directly on its core business priorities as the reason for its decision to end its sponsorship of NASCAR&#8217;s top series.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sprint has long benefited from the unprecedented level of brand integration available in NASCAR, and the passionate fan base that is the most loyal in sports,&#8221; said Sprint vice president of marketing Steve Gaffney in a statement. &#8220;Without question, the NASCAR sponsorship property has been a valuable investment for us and will be for our successor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>NASCAR and Nextel signed a 10-year agreement in 2004 and Sprint took over after a corporate merger with Nextel.
