He was diagnosed with a fracture above the kneecap and placed on recallable IR, which allowed him to start practicing again late last month.<\/p>\n<p>The third-year pro returned to action for Sunday&#8217;s game against San Diego, but managed to play just 42 snaps before re-injuring the knee.<\/p>\n<p>Trevathan previously missed Denver&#8217;s first three games of the season with a broken left tibia.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, Trevathan led the Broncos in tackles during the team&#8217;s run to the AFC championship, but he finishes this season with just three games played.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow linebacker Brandon Marshall, who stepped into the starting lineup because of Trevathan&#8217;s injury, sustained a sprained foot during Denver&#8217;s division-clinching win over San Diego.
