New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Kentucky remained a unanimous choice as the top-ranked team in the Associated Press men’s college basketball poll.<\/p>\n
The Wildcats have been the top team all season and are an undisputed No. 1 for the second straight week. John Calipari’s group struggled past Columbia last Wednesday in a 56-46 decision before a thorough 84-70 triumph over North Carolina on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Kentucky received all 65 first-place votes and a total of 1,625 points from a nationwide media panel.<\/p>\n
Duke remained second and is followed by Arizona, Louisville, Wisconsin, Virginia, Villanova, Gonzaga, Texas and Kansas. Gonzaga and Texas swapped places as the only change among the top 10.<\/p>\n
The second 10 consists of Wichita State, Ohio State, Iowa State, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, Maryland, Miami-Florida, San Diego State and St. John’s. The Red Storm moved up four places from 24th after earning a spot in the poll last week.<\/p>\n
Notre Dame, West Virginia, Butler, North Carolina and Michigan State are the last five teams ranked. Butler dropped eight spots from 15th after a loss at Tennessee on Sunday, while North Carolina slipped three spots after its loss in Lexington.<\/p>\n
Michigan State is back in the poll after a one-week absence. The Spartans fell out of the rankings after an overtime loss to Notre Dame and won their only contest last week with an 87-61 victory over Oakland.<\/p>\n
Northern Iowa fell out this week. The Panthers were 23rd and suffered a double-overtime loss at VCU on Saturday.<\/p>\n
This week’s schedule features a couple of ranked matchups on Saturday. Ohio State and North Carolina will square off in Chicago and Oklahoma will battle Washington in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
