St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – Minnesota Wild star Zach Parise was officially placed on injured reserve Thursday as he continues to recover from a recent concussion.<\/p>\n
The move, made retroactive to Nov. 4, is purely procedural, as Parise will be eligible to be activated at any time. The Wild needed to clear a roster spot for the return of defenseman Jared Spurgeon, who was taken off IR and is expected to play in Thursday’s game against Buffalo.<\/p>\n
Parise has missed Minnesota’s last three games with the concussion, which he sustained during a 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Nov. 4. The Wild have lost all three contests with the veteran forward sidelined and managed just two goals over that stretch.<\/p>\n
Spurgeon has not played since Oct. 30 because of a shoulder injury. The fifth- year blueliner has recorded two goals and four assists with a plus-seven rating in nine games this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
