Owings Mills, MD (SportsNetwork.com) – Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith had season-ending surgery on his left foot Thursday.<\/p>\n
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said doctors decided Thursday morning that Smith needed surgery.<\/p>\n
Previously the coach had said Smith would be out “a few weeks” after suffering a sprained foot on the opening drive of Baltimore’s Oct. 26 game against Cincinnati.<\/p>\n
Smith, 26, had started every game the past two seasons before the injury. The fourth-year corner had 28 tackles and one interception in eight games this season. He will be ready for the team’s offseason program, Harbaugh said.<\/p>\n
