Ballymena, Northern Ireland (SportsNetwork.com) – Joakim Lagergren stumbled to a 1-over 72 on Sunday, but it was enough to give him the title at the Northern Ireland Open Challenge.<\/p>\n
Lagergren finished at 13-under-par 271. This was his first victory on the European Challenge Tour.<\/p>\n
The Swede started the day with a 6-stroke lead, but it started to shrink right away as he stumbled to bogeys at the first and third.<\/p>\n
Lagergren parred six in a row from the third. He got one stroke back with a birdie on the 10th. Adrien Bernadet was one stroke back at that point, as he carded five birdies on the front nine.<\/p>\n
After four consecutive pars from the 11th, Lagergren traded a bogey for a birdie from the 15th. He stumbled to another bogey on No. 17, but birdied the par-5 closing hole for the fourth straight day to earn the title.<\/p>\n
Bernadet parred the final nine holes to post 5-under 66. He took second at minus-12. Bernd Ritthammer also shot 66 and he shared third place at 11-under 273 with Jerome Lando Casanova (65).<\/p>\n
