He remained in the game and singled in his next at-bat, but was later replaced by Francisco Cervelli in the sixth inning.<\/p>\n<p>After visiting a neurologist that confirmed the mild concussion, McCann was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list by the Yankees prior to Saturday&#8217;s contest with Cleveland. Catcher Austin Romine was recalled from Triple-A Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre to serve as the backup to Cervelli in the interim.<\/p>\n<p>McCann, a seven-time All-Star with the Atlanta Braves who signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the Yankees during the offseason, has hit .238 with 13 home runs and 49 RBI in 103 games thus far in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees also announced on Saturday that the team has released second baseman Brian Roberts.
