Boston’s Craig, who was acquired along with Joe Kelly from the St. Louis Cardinals as part of the John Lackey deal before the non-waiver trade deadline last week, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a foot injury.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old is hitting just .237 this season with seven homers, but has batted over .300 in each of the last two years and is a .291 career hitter with 57 homers and 291 RBI in 470 games.<\/p>\n
Craig has played left field, right field and first base this season and went 1-for-4 in his debut with Boston on Friday.<\/p>\n
