Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) – Brock Mackenzie closed with a 6-under 66 on Sunday and won the ATB Financial Classic by four strokes.<\/p>\n
Mackenzie finished at 27-under-par 261. This was his second victory on the PGA Tour Canada. He was the runner-up in British Columbia earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Joel Dahmen fired an 8-under 64 at Sirocco Golf Club to gain a tie for second. He ended alongside Stephen Carney (68) at 23-under-par 265. Cory Renfrew (67) and Brady Schnell (69) were one stroke back at minus-22.<\/p>\n
Ted Brown closed with a 66 and ended alone in sixth at 21-under-par 267. Ryan Brehm matched Dahmen’s 64 to jump into seventh place at minus-20.<\/p>\n
Mackenzie got going with a pair of pars before dropping in back-to-back birdie efforts at three and four. He followed a birdie on the eighth with another on No. 9 as he made the turn at 25-under.<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old poured in three birdies in a 4-hole span from the 11th to jump to 28-under par. He led Carney by five at that point.<\/p>\n
Mackenzie faltered to bogeys on the 15th and 17th to cut into his lead, but a birdie at the last closed out the comfortable win for Mackenzie.<\/p>\n
Carney had two birdies and a bogey on the front nine. Around the turn, he birdied three of four holes from the 11th to move to 23-under. Carney traded a bogey for a birdie from the 15th, then he parred the final two to share second.<\/p>\n
Dahmen birdied the first, but dropped shots at the third and fifth. He bounced back with birdies at six and seven. He followed that with an eagle on the par-5 eighth to move to 18-under.<\/p>\n
Around the turn, he made five birdies between the 11th and 17th to leap to minus-23. He parred the last to tie Carney.<\/p>\n
