He finished 6-7-1 with a 3.09 GAA in 17 contests last season.<\/p>\n<p>Taken by the Devils in the eighth round of the 1997 draft, Clemmensen made his NHL debut during the 2001-02 season after helping Boston College win the 2001 NCAA championship.<\/p>\n<p>When not honing his craft in Albany, he backed up future Hall of Fame goaltender Martin Brodeur from 2001 to 2007 and again in 2008-09 after a one- year stint in the Toronto organization.<\/p>\n<p>The Iowa native&#8217;s largest stretch of playing time occurred in the 2008-09 season, when Brodeur was shelved long term due to injury. He filled in by going 25-13-1 with a 2.39 GAA, .917 save percentage and two shutouts over 40 games.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, No. 1 goalie Cory Schneider is expected to be signed to an extension shortly.
