Aviemore, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) – Andrew Johnston carded a final round 66 on Sunday and he cruised to a 3-shot victory at the Scottish Hydro Challenge.<\/p>\n
Johnston carded just one bogey on the next-to-last hole on his way to another strong day. He finished the tournament at 19-under-par 265.<\/p>\n
The England native held a 2-shot lead heading into the final day, and he kept things rolling right off the bat with an eagle on the par-4 second hole. After making five straight pars, Johnston birdied back-to-back holes at eight and nine, making the turn at 4-under for the day.<\/p>\n
Johnston added two more birdies at 13 and 14 before making bogey at No. 17. At that point, the title was already his barring a huge collapse.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old held the lead since the conclusion of the second round, and he never let go. Johnston’s best round of the week came on the second day when he fired a 6-under 65 at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Club.<\/p>\n
Terry Pilkadaris and Moritz Lampert both shot 67s on the final day and they finished three shots behind Johnston in second place at 16-under 268. Jack Senior (65) and Oliver Farr (66) ended tied for fourth at 15-under.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
