{"id":20028,"date":"2014-06-25T19:05:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-25T19:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/buchholz-activated-from-dl-capuano-dfad\/"},"modified":"2014-06-25T19:05:00","modified_gmt":"2014-06-25T19:05:00","slug":"buchholz-activated-from-dl-capuano-dfad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/buchholz-activated-from-dl-capuano-dfad\/","title":{"rendered":"Buchholz activated from DL, Capuano DFA&#8217;d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; The Boston Red Sox on Wednesday activated right-hander Clay Buchholz from the 15-day disabled list and designated pitcher Chris Capuano for assignment.<\/p>\n<p>Buchholz, who has gone 2-4 with a 7.02 ERA in 10 starts this season, was placed on the DL May 28, two days after his last appearance, thanks to a hyperextended left knee.<\/p>\n<p>He went 0-1 with a 2.53 earned run average in two rehab starts for Triple-A Pawtucket.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Buchholz went 12-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 16 regular season starts and earned his first All-Star appearance.<\/p>\n<p>To make room on the roster, the Sox decided to part ways with the 35-year-old Capuano, who pitched to a 1-1 record and 4.55 ERA in 28 appearances.
