Myrtle Beach, SC (SportsNetwork.com) – Jamie Broce carded a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to extend his lead to three strokes at the PGA Professional National Championship.<\/p>\n
Broce finished three rounds at 5-under 211.<\/p>\n
Michael Block shot an even-par 72 at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club to sit alone in second place at 2-under 214, while Dave McNabb (70), David Hronek (72) and Ryan Helminen (74) shared third at minus-1.<\/p>\n
Matt Slowinski (72), Stuart Deane (72) and Paul Scaletta (72) are tied for sixth at even-par 216.<\/p>\n
Defending champion Rod Perry managed an even-par 72 during his third round and is among a group of six players tied for 12th place at 2-over 218.<\/p>\n
Broce opened his round with four straight pars before tripping to a bogey at the fifth. He bounced right back with birdies at the sixth and eighth to make the turn at 5-under.<\/p>\n
He later traded a birdie at the 13th with a bogey at the 14th to remain at 5- under and closed his day with four straight pars to maintain his 3-stroke lead heading into the final round.<\/p>\n
Block countered bogeys at the first and seventh with birdies at the sixth and 12th during his third round to sit in second place.<\/p>\n
