{"id":19471,"date":"2014-06-03T17:36:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-03T17:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/rays-myers-to-miss-two-months\/"},"modified":"2014-06-03T22:20:10","modified_gmt":"2014-06-03T22:20:10","slug":"rays-myers-to-miss-two-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/rays-myers-to-miss-two-months\/","title":{"rendered":"Rays&#8217; Myers to miss two months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; Reigning American League Rookie of the Year Wil Myers is expected to be sidelined into August after being diagnosed with a slight stress fracture in his right wrist, the Tampa Bay Rays announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Rays said that Myers will not require surgery to repair the injury, but he will have his arm placed in a cast for 5-to-6 weeks before beginning rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>Myers was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, two days after he hurt his wrist in an outfield collision with teammate Desmond Jennings during Tampa Bay&#8217;s 3-2 loss to Boston in Fenway Park.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old captured the AL&#8217;s top rookie honor after batting .293 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI in just 88 games last season, but was in the midst of a sophomore slump in 2014.
