Pollock underwent successful surgery Monday to repair a fracture in his right hand and is expected to miss at least the next eight weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Pollock sustained the injury after being struck on the hand by a pitch from Cincinnati Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto in the eighth inning of Saturday&#8217;s game.<\/p>\n<p>He was placed on the 15-day disabled list the following day and is tentatively scheduled to resume baseball activities in approximately eight weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old Pollock was batting .316 with six homers and 15 RBI through 52 games this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder A.J.
