Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago White Sox have placed pitcher Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list with a sublexing peroneal tendon in his left ankle.<\/p>\n
The 34-year-old suffered the injury in the ninth inning of Monday’s victory over the Royals while attempting to field a bunt and will return to Chicago to undergo further examination.<\/p>\n
The right-hander is 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA and six saves in 19 appearances this season.<\/p>\n
To fill his roster spot, the White Sox purchased the contract of pitcher Javy Guerra from Triple-A Charlotte. The 28-year-old is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA and three saves in 14 relief appearances with Charlotte in 2014.<\/p>\n
Guerra was claimed by Chicago off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 26. In three seasons with the Dodgers, Guerra was 4-5 with a 2.90 ERA and 29 saves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
