He appeared in just 73 games last season because of a left ankle injury he initially sustained in July.<\/p>\n<p>The two-time All-Star last played a major league game on Sept. 27 last season and did not take part in the postseason for the Dodgers.<\/p>\n<p>Kemp batted .270 with six homers and 33 runs batted in last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers optioned outfielder Mike Baxter to Triple-A Albuquerque to open a roster spot.
