Fall River, MA (SportsNetwork.com) – A judge ruled Friday that prosecutors in former NFL star Aaron Hernandez’s murder case can’t have recordings of his jailhouse calls.<\/p>\n
The judge said that prosecutors didn’t make a sufficient enough case for the records.<\/p>\n
The defense stated that prosecutors are on a “fishing expedition.”<\/p>\n
Prosecutors said that Hernandez allegedly communicated about the case in “coded messages” and discussed his belief about his criminal liability.<\/p>\n
Hernandez pleaded not guilty in September to a charge of first-degree murder and five accompanying weapons charges in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year- old semi-pro football player from the Boston area who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend.<\/p>\n
Four others have been charged in the case, including Hernandez’s fiancee and cousin.<\/p>\n
