That fight counted as a successful title defense by Matthysse by the WBC, but Peterson&#8217;s championship was not on the line.<\/p>\n<p>Peterson landed more than 100 more punches than Jean (25-1, 17 KOs), who makes his home in Montreal. Jean, who entered the ring wearing a classic Quebec Nordiques NHL jersey, took a solid left to the face in the fifth round that slowed his progress.
