{"id":11423,"date":"2013-12-13T12:55:00","date_gmt":"2013-12-13T12:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/twins-bring-kubel-back-on-minor-league-deal\/"},"modified":"2013-12-13T12:55:00","modified_gmt":"2013-12-13T12:55:00","slug":"twins-bring-kubel-back-on-minor-league-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/twins-bring-kubel-back-on-minor-league-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Twins bring Kubel back on minor league deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; The Minnesota Twins have signed Jason Kubel to a minor league deal.<\/p>\n<p>Kubel, of course, debuted with the Twins in 2004 and stayed with them through 2011 before signing a free agent deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks prior to the start of the 2012 season.<\/p>\n<p>The 31-year-old hit 30 home runs in his first season with the Diamondbacks, but struggled to a .220 average, five homers, eight doubles and 32 RBI in 89 games last season before being designated for assignment.<\/p>\n<p>Kubel ended his 2013 campaign with the Cleveland Indians, but hit just .167 in 18 at-bats for them. Cleveland then declined its $7.5 million option on him, thus making him a free agent.<\/p>\n<p>For his career Kubel is a .264 hitter with 139 home runs and 551 RBI over 991 games with the Twins, D&#8217;Backs and Indians.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; The Minnesota Twins have signed Jason Kubel to a minor league deal.
