{"id":11386,"date":"2013-12-12T15:39:00","date_gmt":"2013-12-12T15:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/lakers-blake-out-six-weeks\/"},"modified":"2013-12-12T15:39:00","modified_gmt":"2013-12-12T15:39:00","slug":"lakers-blake-out-six-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stub.com\/hq\/news\/lakers-blake-out-six-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"Lakers&#8217; Blake out six weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Blake will miss a minimum of six weeks after tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, the team announced.<\/p>\n<p>Blake suffered the injury in the second half of the Lakers&#8217; 100-86 win over Sacramento on Nov. 24 and has been playing through the injury ever since.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m still a little shocked right now,&#8221; said Blake.<\/p>\n<p>The injury comes at a difficult time for the Lakers, who are already without point guards Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar. Nash is out indefinitely with a chronic nerve issue in his back, while Farmar has a torn hamstring and won&#8217;t return to the court until sometime in January.<\/p>\n<p>Blake&#8217;s absence leaves the Lakers without a true point guard on the active roster, with Kobe Bryant expected to handle those duties with the starting unit in the meantime.<\/p>\n<p>Blake has started all 21 games this season for Los Angeles, averaging 9.8 points with 7.7 assists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) &#8211; Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Blake will miss a minimum of six weeks after tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, the team announced.
