In 1970, while playing at a mutual gig as members of two different bands, the members of Aerosmith found each other in Boston. Their first official gig together was played at a high school dance in Mendon, Massachusetts. In 1986, all the band members went through a drug rehab program, cleaned up their act and come back stronger than ever with Back in the Saddle .
