Milwaukee Brewers History

Originally based out of Seattle, the Brewers first name was the Pilots because of the booming aircraft manufacturing plants in the Northwest. However, this franchise went broke in a year and Bud Selig, the Brewers first owner, moved the team to Milwaukee. Selig did this because the Braves had just left for Atlanta leaving a void in Milwaukee for baseball.

After a team was brought back to Milwaukee, they were originally attached to the American League. They would win their only Pennant in 1982. However, due to the Major Leagues expanding again, they were given the option of switching to the National League in 1997. They made the switch and the only major change was now their pitching staff had to bat now.
