The Boston Red Sox host the Cleveland Indians for four games at Fenway Park starting on Thursday and including day games on Saturday and Sunday. The series pits two of the top four teams in the American League against one another, as the Red Sox currently sit at 27-18, 1.5 games behind the Yankees in the AL East. The Indians lead the AL Central at 26-17.

Cleveland will likely have revenge on its mind after Boston swept a three game series in Cleveland in April by a combined score of 19-8.

The Red Sox have been lead by the offensive output of David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Daniel Nava. Ortiz is hitting .364 with seven home runs and 29 runs driven in, while Pedroia is hitting .343 with 21 RBI and 32 runs. Pedroia has also stolen eight bases. Nava is batting .298 with six home runs and 27 runs batted in.

The Indians are led at the plate by Michael Brantley and Carlos Santana. Brantley is hitting .301 with two home runs and 19 RBI, while Santana is batting .300 with seven home runs and 16 runs batted in.

Boston’s pitching staff is led by Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz, who are both 6-0 on the year. Lester has a 2.72 earned runs average and a 1.01 WHIP, while Buchholz has a 1.78 earned runs average and a 1.04 WHIP.

Justin Masterson is the ace of the Indians staff, with a 7-2 record and a 2.83 earned runs average. His WHIP is 1.13. Behind him, Ubaldo Jimenez and Corey Kluber are both 3-2, while Zach McAllister is 3-3.

The Red Sox have the second best offense in terms of runs scored in the American League, while the Indians are sixth. In terms of pitching, the Red Sox have the fifth best ERA in the American League at 3.80, while the Indians are seventh at 3.83.

Obviously these are two closely matched teams and it should be a hotly contested series at Fenway Park this weekend, so don’t miss out. Get your tickets today and enjoy some exciting summer action between the Red Sox and Indians.
